Our turmeric capsules, like the rest of our range, are truly special. The turmeric we use is carefully selected from our spiritual mentor in India, Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu, who cultivates organic turmeric on his farm in the Himalayan mountains. This is a local variety that has been grown in the region for thousands of years. The roots are smaller than the common turmeric roots you find in supermarkets, but they naturally contain high levels of curcumin and other curcuminoids – the active compounds that make turmeric so valuable.
The processing method is simple and gentle, perfectly aligned with our values. The roots are hand-harvested, carefully peeled, and sun-dried, which both preserves them and naturally disinfects through UV rays. The drying is then completed at low temperatures to retain all nutrients and enzymes. Once the roots are perfectly dry, they are ground into the fine, full-spectrum turmeric powder you find in your capsules today. We add a touch of black pepper extract and ginger to enhance absorption, as piperine, the active compound in black pepper, can increase curcumin’s bioavailability by up to 2000%, according to several studies.
Although we never use artificial fertilizers or chemicals, we always test for impurities and heavy metals to ensure you receive the best possible product. We are proud to offer you these turmeric capsules and hope they will support you on your journey toward better health and well-being.
Turmeric, particularly its active compound curcumin, is renowned for its numerous health benefits. Traditionally, turmeric has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and digestion-supporting properties. While these claims have been extensively researched scientifically, many still lack the robust clinical evidence required for full approval by EFSA (European Food Safety Authority). As a result, several health claims related to curcumin are not permitted in the EU, despite significant supporting documentation. Additionally, many applications for approval have been "on hold" with the EU since 2012.
However, a few scientifically documented benefits can currently be acknowledged:
Scientifically Documented Benefits
Below, I have provided links to studies that confirm the effects of curcumin. However, I must emphasize that the results of these studies have not yet been approved by the EU, and we therefore do not attribute any of these effects to our products. That said, it is quite fascinating that one study found turmeric to be as effective as 800 mg of ibuprofen in over 100 patients with osteoarthritis.
